Reservoir Construction

At Widdington Recycling we offer a reservoir construction service that uses environmentally safe materials. We have many years of experience in reservoir construction and we are proud to put our name to them for many years after construction.

We bring in engineering materials to construct accredited lagoons and reservoirs that will stand the test of time and are quality assessed by local engineers. This makes our reservoirs very strong and durable, and they are able to withstand the harshest weather conditions. Our reservoir construction service is available to all clients and organisations, and we are always happy to discuss your specific needs.

If you would like to learn more about our reservoir construction service, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Frequently Asked Questions about Reservoir Construction

Reservoirs are built by creating a dam or dyke to hold back water, and then constructing a reservoir basin to store the water. The basin can be dug out of the ground or made using imported engineering clays and other materials.
A reservoir is a large artificial lake used for storing water. Reservoirs are built for many reasons, including irrigation, drinking water supply, flood control, and hydroelectric power generation just to name a few.
A reservoir is a great way to store water and use it when needed. There are many benefits to constructing a reservoir. Some of the benefits include:

- Improving water supply during droughts
- Reducing the risk of flooding
- Generating hydroelectric power
- Providing recreation opportunities
Materials used in reservoir construction vary depending on the size and type of reservoir. Common materials include earth, concrete, and metal all of which can be obtained through recycling.

Agricultural Lagoon Construction

Agricultural lagoons are specially designed ponds that are used to store and treat livestock waste. By law, all agricultural operations that generate waste must have a plan in place for managing that waste. Agricultural lagoons are one common solution. Lagoons come in a variety of sizes and shapes, but they all share a basic design. There is an inlet pipe where waste flows into the lagoon. The waste then settles to the bottom, where it is broken down by bacteria. The treated water then flows out through an outlet pipe. Agricultural lagoons are generally constructed with earth walls, although some may have concrete or metal walls.
